Glenn Hall - Creative Director
Glenn Hall is an expert at making things up on the fly – and is passionate about training others to do the same. He is the Creative Director of Just Improvise – which has specialised in improvised theatre, corporate entertainment and training since 2000.
Improvisation is Glenn’s life, as well as his career – as a corporate trainer, educator, workshop facilitator, professional actor, television and radio presenter. Drawing on his improv philosophy of the Hive of Nine Be’s, Glenn has applied his distinctive style and skills to unlocking the potential of those he works with – from blue chip businesses to community organisations.
As well as his formal qualifications, a Bachelor of Education (Drama and English) from Curtin University, Glenn regularly sharpens his improv skills working with some of the world’s best exponents of the art – including Jill Bernard (HUGE Theatre, US), Per Gottfredsson (Stockholm Improvisational Theater), Randy Dixon (Unexpected Productions, US), Patti Stiles (International Theatresports™ Institute, Canada) and Theatresports™ creator Keith Johnstone (trust us: these guys are some of the leading lights in improvisation world). As improv lecturer at the renowned WA Academy of Performing Arts, Glenn is also hard at work training the next generation of stars of the stage and screen.
Glenn has trained, entertained and engaged employees at a diverse range of corporate, government and community organisations – you can find a detailed list on our ABOUT page.
A versatile performer, actor, improviser, and voiceover artist, Glenn is well-known as host of SBS TV’s Eco House Challenge (which screened in Australia, throughout Asia and in North America), narrating the current ABC TV series Vet School, and both as a radio presenter with 720 ABC Perth and a regular guest on the station’s Morning Program. On commercial radio and TV channels, you’re likely to have heard his voice in one of the hundreds of ads he’s voiced over the years.
His stage performance highlights include starring alongside Julia Zemiro in the hit improvised musical Spontaneous Broadway and touring to Brazil with David Williamson’s Face to Face for Perth Theatre Company. Glenn has appeared on stage with Perth’s major theatre companies, in numerous Shakespeare In The Park productions, and for more than twenty years has been one of Australia’s leading improvisers – leading the state team in the Theatresports National Championships for five years – winning in 2009 and runners-up in 2013.
When not encouraging people in the corporate world to play more, Glenn works to encourage everyday people to grow through improvisation courses and performances he organises within the community – including as the licence holder for producing the well-known Theatresports™ concept in Western Australia. Through Just Improvise, he has devised and produced a number of unscripted theatre productions which have toured the country. Glenn was also a driving force behind the creation of improv troupe/show, The Big Hoo Haa – co-creating the show format with Sam Longley and co-training the original cast for the first six years.
Glenn is also in demand as a corporate host and MC, his charming, witty and easy-going manner ensures he can manage the unexpected with humour and composure.
Glenn is inspired by family, community and re-framing adversity into positivity.Email Glenn
Vida Hustas - Managing Director
Vida brings her energy, insight, creativity and work ethic to drive the myriad programs and activities she coordinates as the Managing Director of Just Improvise.
Fully understanding the value of ‘play’ through her formal training as a primary school teacher (Bachelor of Arts, Primary Education, ECU), Vida found her rightful place in management via a bachelor’s degree in Arts Management at WAAPA. She followed this up with a Post Graduate in Business Marketing.
Since then she has melded her love of creative arts, education and promotion in leadership roles within some of Western Australia’s most well-known and progressive organisations.
As Marketing Manager of ABC Local Radio WA, the Marketing Coordinator at Perth Zoo and the Public Affairs Manager at Scitech, Vida was responsible for developing, driving and implementing creative, effective public engagements strategies and partnerships – often on budgets which required her to just improvise!
Her early training in the arts sector – with the Art Gallery of WA, Country Arts WA and Barking Gecko Theatre Company – taught her that improvisation doesn’t just happen in the hands of artists: it’s critical to the success of administrators as well.
…all of which makes her a perfect fit in the Just Improvise business.Email Vida
